DS arkitektur & design is a Finnish architecture studio that was founded by Dennis Sundqvist in August 2019.

In June 2021, Dennis graduated with a 'Master of Architecture' from Umeå School of Architecture in Sweden.

Ever since I was a small boy, I pictured myself being an architect. I was often found inventing and designing small projects that I also later built. I chose to study architecture because I love to see how an initial idea evolves and eventually turns into something built. The process is what I enjoy, and there is always something new to learn through it. To me, architecture has the perfect balance between design and technology.

 

My vision is an architecture available for everyone, where the client is the main focus. In my work, I honour natural materials, carefully designed details, and balanced contrasts. I always seek to use local materials and building techniques, and I strive for a functional yet individual architecture that works in harmony with its site and surroundings. I think architecture should be bold, yet simple.
